Keeping materials/desirable items out of reach is a great natural opportunity for your child to use language. If there’s a toy or an object that your child is motivated by, place it in their view but out of their reach and then wait! Wait time can be an amazing tool to encourage language. Their request can even be just reaching or pointing. This gives you an opportunity to model and then give them the object.
