Today is Dr. Suess day! I really like to use Dr. Suess books in speech therapy. The rhyming and repetition throughout his books are not only fun, but they are also great for developing speech, language and literacy skills. He has so many great books but if I had to choose, my favorite book would be Hop on Pop, especially for the little ones I see. It has a lot of basic and short vocabulary words with a lot of early sounds that are repeated multiple times throughout the book. It’s also great for rhyming like all of the Dr. Suess books, which is a great skill for early literacy.
